Nazak Nikakhtar joined Stewart and Stewart in 2007. She has experience in a variety of international trade law matters including antidumping and countervailing duty proceedings, international and bilateral trade agreements, trade policies, and WTO dispute settlement. Prior to joining Stewart and Stewart, Ms. Nikakhtar served at the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration/Import Administration as a Special Assistant to the Senior Enforcement Coordinator of the China/Non-Market Economy Office. At the U.S. Department of Commerce, Ms. Nikakhtar conducted numerous complex antidumping cases, advised on legal and regulatory matters related to the enforcement of U.S. trade laws, and participated in bilateral negotiations on trade issues between the United States and China. Ms. Nikakhtar also served at the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security as an industry analyst, where she performed key statistical analyses for the government’s first official survey of the U.S. biotechnology industry. Ms. Nikakhtar received several award medals from the U.S. Department of Commerce for her achievements in the areas of international trade and industry analysis.
Ms. Nikakhtar obtained her J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law. At Syracuse University, Ms. Nikakhtar served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Syracuse Journal of International Law and Commerce. Ms. Nikakhtar also obtained an M.A. in Economics from the Syracuse University Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. Ms. Nikakhtar obtained a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles, in French literature and political science.
She speaks French and Farsi fluently.
Ms. Nikakhtar is a member of the Maryland State Bar and the District of Columbia Bar. She is admitted to practice before the Court of International Trade. |
