New 2012 Tariff Categories Permit Better Tracking of Wind Energy Imports

U.S. imports of wind energy components grew rapidly in 2011, outpacing the growth in wind power capacity installed.  In 2012, it will be possible to track these imports with more precision – changes to the tariff schedule made effective on January 1 will, for the first time, permit the public to track detailed import data for generators, generator parts, and hubs and blades for wind turbines.
